Welcome Back With Gold Soiree

I recently had a customer request some "welcome back" cards for her staff. I knew I wanted to incorporate some DSP (Designer Series Paper) into my project as SU has SO many wonderful new prints and I had recently taken advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free sale that was offered in July! I ended up choosing Gold Soiree DSP (which I had actually received at Convention when I attended a class hosted by SU's lovely Carrie Cudney). Each attendee in the class got an entire pack of this beautiful paper (and much, much more!) but we only needed a couple pieces to complete the projects in the class. I got the color combination right from the DSP itself which is one of the reasons why I love incorporating DSP into projects - it takes the guess work out of choosing colors! Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, and Garden Green make a lovely combination and is a combination I don't think I would have come up with by myself!
Supplies Used:
Ink: Calypso Coral, StazOn Black Ink
Paper: Gold Soiree DSP, Garden Green, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding,
 Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Alphabet rotary stamp, Fabulous Phrases (retired)
Big Shot: Tiny Triangles embossing folder
Punches: Blossom, 3-4" circle, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle
Accessories: Gold Metallic Baker's Twine, Envelope Punch Board (to round corners)

Thanks very much for stopping by!

Feminine Sympathy

"If nothing ever changed there would be no butterflies" is a much-loved sentiment from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set named Flight of the Butterfly. I used the Swallowtail background stamp to create some feminine sympathy cards as part of a customer's order this month. The sentiment is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes which is a must have for every stamper - it has 24 stamps in a variety of fonts for every occasion.

The technique used to create these simple yet elegant cards is called triple time stamping. It looks impressive but it really is quite simple to create. I used Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe cut in 3 sizes:
4-1/4 x 5-1/2"
3-1/4 x 4-1/2"
2-1/4 x 3-1/2"

My Whisper White pieces are sized:
4 x 5-1/4"
3 x 4-1/4"
2 x 3-1/4"

Simply layer your Whisper White pieces together, stamp your image, and then assemble your colored layers of cardstock in between the stamped Whisper White layers!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Simple congrats

I used a few of the new In Colors to create a simple congratulations card for a customer. Some Baked Brown Sugar sequins from the 2013-2015 colors add a perfect touch and a little bling! Kinda Eclectic is one of the awesome stamp sets we received at convention - I can see using it a lot!
This technique is a masking technique that I learned from my upline, Allison. The card is also cased from a project she showed us at a recent stamp club! She is very inspirational and I am so proud to be on her team! She was recently chosen as one of 16 demonstrators WORLDWIDE for the 2014-2015 Artisan team with Stampin' Up! I can't wait to see what other awesome projects she shares with us over the coming months! You can find her blog here.

Kinda Electic Stamp Set pg 164 of Annual Catalogue
$33.95 (woodmount) or $24.95 (clear mount) CA
