Sunflowers for Support

The news is full of the devastation hitting Ukraine right now, and my heart breaks for everyone affected. I wanted to show I am thinking of them by helping to flood the internet with beautiful sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine, and of course using blue and yellow to represent their country's flag. I CASEd the oh-so-talented Alanna Wharf to create this gorgeous card. As a bonus, the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and coordinating dies are available as a bundle again until the end of March and are an additional 10% off! The Mini Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine and several bundles in the annual catalogue are on sale until the end of March as well at 20% off!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Peaceful Moments
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, Old Olive
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Basic White, Gold Foil, Early Espresso, Basic Black, Brights DSP
stack
Other: Stitched Greenery die, Sunflowers dies, Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, Sponge Daubers

If you would like to grab the supplies to create this beautiful project, head over to my online store by clicking here. I realize I haven't been posting much on my blog, but I do post several times a week on my Facebook page which can be found here. Come join me for the latest Stampin' Up! news, some card creations, and more!

Have a fabulous week!

Happy Easter!

I created a fun Easter card to send to my sisters and mom this year using the Arrange A Wreath bundle. I cut one layer of the wreath with Purple Posy and another layer with Pear Pizzazz and also stamped various eggs using Pool Party, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, and Petal Pink. I'm going to miss this bundle! It is retiring soon and is a must to add to your collection in my opinion! It has images and sentiments to cover many holidays including Easter, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Go to my online store ASAP and add it to your collection before it is gone forever!!

Stamps: Arrange A Wreath
Ink: Basic Gray, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Pool Party
Paper: Basic White, Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather, Purple Posy
Other: Wreath Builder Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

The Last Chance List was released a few days ago, and things are selling out fast!  Click here to be taken to my online store to see all the items retiring. Many are discounted up to 60%! Don't delay....many items have already sold out.

I  hope you are having a restful Easter weekend....stay safe everyone!

A Touch of Ink

Some people prefer cards that area simple and serene, others love colour and vibrancy. Sometimes it just depends on your mood. By changing the colour of your card base, you can get a much different look for the same card. Here I have inked up the Sale-A-Bration free stamp set, A Touch of Ink with Memento Black and then stamped the "fill in" images with Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, and Coastal Cabana for the hummingbird. This photopolymer stamp set is easy to use and creates gorgeous cards with a slight watercolour appearance. The fill-in images do not line up exactly and that adds to the overall whimsical and watercolour effect.

Stamps: A Touch of Ink
Ink: Memento Black, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Thick Whisper White
Other: Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones, Multipurpose Glue

I always prefer colour, but I know not everyone does! Which one is your favorite?  The card on the left is layered on a Melon Mambo card base, the one on the right Thick Whisper White (still using up some old stockpile vs. Basic White!). A thin layer of Basic Black cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" really sets off the black outline images on the white panel which was cut at 3.75" x 5". The hummingbird was cut out by hand and popped up on some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Don't forget the inside of your card!!

Earn your FREE A Touch of Ink stamp set until February 28 during Sale-A-Bration 2021! You can choose this as your free gift with a $120 purchase (before shipping and tax) from my online store at kristaclark.stampinup.net and click "Shop Now." Please use this month's host code (found on the right side of this screen) when placing your order. If your order is over $200 you will qualify for free rewards - don't enter the host code - I want you to earn the rewards!

Lots of Heart for Valentines

Hi everyone! Have you seen the Lots of Heart bundle on page 15 of the January-June Mini Catalogue? It's great for creating Valentines, baby cards, and sending some "just because" love! I love a set that isn't just for one occasion, and those dies......swoon! I created this beauty by cutting a heart out of the free Sale-A-Bration paper, Oh So Ombre, and also cut out a vellum heart. The strip of Rococo Rose was cut just wide enough to use the fun X's and O's die. I ran my Blushing Bride layer through the Scripty 3D embossing folder before layering it on a Rococo Rose card base. What do you think? I hope you like it!!

Stamps: Lots of Heart
Ink: Rococo Rose
Paper: Oh So Ombre, Blushing Bride, Basic White, Rococo Rose, Vellum
Other: Many Hearts Dies, Scripty 3D embossing folder, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, dimensionals, multipurpose glue, Tailored Tag punch (to flag ends of sentiment strip)

There's just a couple weeks left to claim your Sale-A-Bration freebies! I used a 2.5 x 6" piece of the Oh So Ombre paper on my envelope flap - my goal for 2021 is to use up my DSP, and this is a perfect way to make your happy mail more special! With a $60 purchase (before shipping and tax) you can get the 6x6" DSP stack of Oh So Ombre paper as well! Go to kristaclark.stampinup.net and click "Shop Now." Please use this month's host code if your order is under $200!

Happy Valentine's Day my Stampin' friends!

There are also two different level 2 items to choose for free with a $120 purchase. One of the freebies you can choose is the Darling Donkeys stamp set - I just love these adorable little donkeys and created this fun birthday card. I used the Balloon Bouquet punch from the annual catalogue to punch balloons from the Oh So Ombre 6x6 DSP pack and, my favorite, the Flower & Field DSP - other free choices right now with Sale-A-Bration until the end of February! Who doesn't love free, right?!!

Merry Christmas Moose!

I must admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the Merry Moose bundle when I first saw it in the 2019 Holiday catalogue. Then....I saw a bunch of cute samples and projects made with it and I was sold! I actually used the bundle to create a large number of my Christmas cards this year. Paired with the Buffalo Check background stamp, I created a "typically Canadian" card! The Stamparatus was my best friend to stamp the background stamp; I had to ink the stamp up 2, sometimes 3, times to get a good amount of coverage (and yes, I have a Momento ink refill on order!) and with the Stamparatus I didn't have to worry about things not lining up! I added a 1/4" strip of gold glimmer paper on top of some Burlap Ribbon and stamped a few trees on a Stitched Circle in Shaded Spruce. I I love how this card came out and I hope the recipients like it too!
Merry Christmas!!

Holiday Catalogue Swap Card

Wow...it's been a while since I've posted on my blog! I do post several times a week on my Scotian Stamper Facebook page...just search Scotian Stamper Krista on Facebook and "like" me there!!

I recently participated in a swap with other members of my "sideline" featuring products from the new - and amazing - holiday catalogue. I chose to use the Free Skate bundle. My parents met in the 1950s at a public skating event in Nova Scotia when my dad's friend "dared" him to speak to my mom!! And the rest is history....lol. Five kids later and over 30 years of marriage...(unfortunately my dad passed away in 1989 from cancer). I've always loved hearing how they met, and I've been partial to skates ever since! I also took figure skating as a child but haven't strapped on a pair of skates for over 30 years!

I was pleased with how my card turned out. So often I create by CASEing other demonstrators, but part of this swap challenge was, of course, to make your own creation. I was happy to discover I can come up with my own creations when forced to! lol I decided to submit it for the most recent challenge over at SUO Challenges (#SUOC232).

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Gold foil, Wrapped in Plaid DSP, Come to Gather DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Free Skate
Other: Detailed Skate Dies, Pretty Label Punch, Stitched Nested Labels, Shaded Spruce/Gold  3/8" Striped Ribbon,
Metallic Pearls

Have you received the new 2019 Holiday Catalogue? If you haven't and you live in Canada and do not already have a demonstrator, just send me an email and I would love to send you one! It's FULL of amazing new products!

Happy Stampin'

Grad Card for a Teacher

One of my nieces recently graduated with her Bachelor degree in Education and of course I had to make her a special card to go with her gift! I pulled out the soon-to-be-retired Hand Delivered Hostess set to create Emma's card:
Paper: Night of Navy, Poppy Parade DSP (from the Brights DSP collection), Basic Black,
Whisper White, silver foil
Ink: Various blends, Craft white
Other: White embossing powder, heat tool, basic rhinestones, paper snips

I know chalkboards are probably obsolete nowadays....but they weren't when I was in school! I guess I am showing my age a bit?!!

You can add the Hand Delivered stamp set to your collection too by hosting a workshop with $200 or more in sales or placing an order of $200+. This set is exclusive to hostesses and will be gone in less than 3 weeks when the 2018-2019 annual catalogue retires!

Happy Stampin'!

Paper: Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter weekend everyone! I hope you are spending some extra time with those you love and having a restful break!

I was heartbroken to see the Large Letter Framelits on the Retiring List earlier in the week. I have used mine a tonne and see so many beautiful home decor items, cards, and scrapbooking pages made with them. They will always remain a part of my collection!! For this surprisingly-simple card all I did was cut the EASTER letters out of the Gingham Gala DSP (also retiring).
Ink: Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake combo, Light Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue, Colour Lifter
Stamps: Fable Friends, Southern Serenade
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Gingham Gala DSP
Other: Grapefruit Grove twine from Nature's Twine, Large Letters Framelits, Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips

I stamped the cute bunny from Fable Friends in Crumb Cake on Thick Whisper White, coloured it using my Stampin' Blends, and cut it out. "Happy" is from the also-retiring Southern Serenade stamp set. FYI - I had to make my card base a bit bigger than usual to fit all the letters on the front - it measures 6 x 4.5". Three scored lines using my Stampin' Trimmer (also retiring) adds a little texture and interest to the card.

The new Annual Catalogue will be here in just a few short weeks! We have to make room for the new products in the warehouse so it's time to be out with the old!! Stamp sets will continue to be produced until May 24 then are while supplies last. Other products including accessories, framelits, punches, etc. are while supplies last only, and don't forget to get your reinkers and extra cardstock in the retiring 2017-2019 In Colours! And yes, the Stampin' Trimmer is being replaced with a new and improved product (still in the works) and the Big Shot is also being replaced by a new and improved product. Change can be scary sometimes but things can't improve if they don't change, right?! Stampin' Up! is a very innovative company, and I'm sure the replacement tools will be fantastic and at the head of their class!

Please remember to use this month's host code of NN3VSTX6. For any order of $75 or more (before shipping and tax) placed using this host code earns you a pair of Paper Ssnips from me for FREE!! That's a value of over $13.50!

Annual Catalogue Retiring List is here.
Occasions Catalogue Retiring List is here

Happy Stampin' and Happy Easter!

Sending You Hedgehugs!

The adorable Hedgehugs stamp set has been in my collection for a while but sadly had never seen any ink! I decided to make a cute card to send to each of my nieces who live in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Northern Alberta. Everyone likes to get a little happy mail, right?! My nieces are all grown up....one graduated last year as an RN, one graduates this year as an optometrist, and the other graduates as an elementary school tear next month! It's crazy how fast time flies, isn't it?

                            Card Inside

Stamps: Hedgehugs
Ink: Early Espresso, Poppy Parade marker, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Old Olive, Vellum, Share What You Love DSP
Tools: Big Shot, Leaf punch, Sprig punch, Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Woodland embossing folder
Other: Clear Rhinestones

I hope you had a lovely weekend and found some time to be creative!
Happy Stampin'!

Happy New Year!

I wanted to share a card that I recently created to celebrate the New Year:

Can you believe this uses the the Dandelion Wishes stamp set?!! I heat embossed the "fireworks" using white embossing powder then coloured them using various Blends! I added some Baker's Twine and glimmer dots to finish it off. I love how it turned out! The number framelits are, of course, retired but I am never giving them up!
Paper: Basic Black, Thick Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick, Silver Glimmer
Stamp Set: Dandelion Wishes
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Glimmer Enamel Dots, Numbers Framelits (retired)

 Happy Belated New Year!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi everyone! Can you believe it's already February 14th and we're halfway through Sale-A-Bration already?!! This Friday, a new selection of SAB freebies are going to be available in addition to the wonderful selections already released. Supplies for all SAB items are while supplies last, so don't wait until March 30th if there is a stamp set or DSP, etc. that you just HAVE to have!

I whipped up this cute Valentine's card today for my hubby. I haven't pulled out This Little Piggy in a long time - it was a definite must have from the new annual catalogue last June! My card was CASEd from the fabulous Amy O'Neill, a fellow SU demonstrator in the USA.
Sorry for the slightly blurry picture - I'm going to have to find a new way to watermark my photos - the quality is being lost when I save the images!

Hope you got to spend Valentine's Day with someone you love!

Happy Stampin',
Krista

Party Pandas in the House for SUO Challenges #193

As soon as I saw the new Sale-A-Bration brochure, I knew I had to have those adorable pandas! When my husband and I were visiting southern California last year, we spent a few hours at the San Diego Zoo and saw some pandas in person. It was a definite highlight! There is a family of pandas coming to the zoo here in Calgary this spring; you can bet I will be paying them a visit as soon as they get settled in!

Sale-A-Bration is THE BEST promotion offered from Stampin' Up! From January 3 to March 31, 2018, you get to choose a free item with every $60 purchase (before taxes and shipping)! It's also a wonderful time to sign up as a demonstrator too; the starter kit is still $135 for any $165 of product of your choosing (plus no taxes and no shipping!) BUT you get additional 2 FREE STAMP SETS! No price limit! That is potentially another $100+ in free product depending on which stamp sets you choose. Isn't that amazing?!

I used some Tutti Frutti DSP cut at 2" x 5-1/4" to layer on my Whisper White piece of cardstock, and cut the red glimmer heart from the Wood Crate framelits dies. I am entering this creation in the current challenge over at SUO Challenges, #193, Hearts A Plenty. You can check out the link here: http://suochallenges.com/?p=6479 to view the projects. The challenge is to create a card to celebrate Valentine's Day. I plan to send these cuties to my 3 nieces who are attended various universities across the country, just so they know I am thinking of them! Everyone likes getting mail, right?

Click on the link on the right side of this screen to view all the amazing Sale-A-Bration freebies up for grabs including Party Pandas! There are also a couple of offerings when you spend $120 (or you can choose 2 of the $60 SAB goodies if you prefer). Shop 242/7 in my online store at https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/default.aspx. If your order is under $200, please use this month's host code:

Thanks for stopping by! I can't believe it has been so long since I posted to my blog. I am much more active on my facebook page - just search Scotian Stamper so you don't miss out on any news!

Christmas Patchwork

Hi everyone! The new holiday catalogue has been live since Sept. 1 and is FULL of amazing new products! When something new comes out, we often forget about the "old" stuff (even though the annual catalogue has only been out 3 months!) Did you know it has a whole section of Christmas products too?! The new Be Merry DSP can be found on page 188 with the classic Christmas colours of Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green. I inked up a returning favorite from last year's holiday catalogue, Cookie Cutter Christmas (page 116 of the annual catalogue) and created this fun card:
Supplies:
Paper: Whisper White Thick, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Be Merry DSP
Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch

The coordinating Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon can be found on page 198 of the annual catalogue and adds a little texture to the front.

I hope you can join me on September 15 for my first Christmas class of the season! We'll be making 6 cards in total (2 each of 3 designs - including this one!), 2 gift tags, and a gift card holder. Please register by Sept. 8. Cost is $25. Email me for further details!

If you would like to purchase the supplies to create this fun project, shop my online store by clicking the link over there --->

Day At the Beach

The Day At the Beach stamp set on page 34 of the Occasions catalogue is a super-cute stamp set that was first released in Stampin' Up's South Pacific market in their fall/holiday occasions catalogue. No that isn't a typo....don't forget that in the Southern Hemisphere they are entering their hottest time of the year in the fall while us in North America (and the rest of the Northern Hemisphere) are starting to bundle up and shovel the white stuff! As soon as I saw the pair of glasses, I knew I wanted to make a card for my niece who is away at optometry school in Ontario, soon to finish her 2nd year.
I used the watercolor pencils and my blender pen to color in the frames. Aren't they cute?! I hope it brightens Jenay's day as she is busy studying for exams this month!

Thanks for stopping by!

Final Hours of Sale-A-Bration!!

We are winding down one of the most popular times of the Stampin' Up! year, the fabulous Sale-A-Bration! There's just a few hours left to snatch up some free stamp sets and free DSP! Hey, Chick! has been a super popular stamp set, and I used it to create this super adorable card, CASE'd from fellow demonstrator Lydia Fiedler at Understand Blue. Isn't it cute?! I used the Perfect Mix stamp set for the eggs and, yes, that is the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#143231)! I simply inked up the "wire" side of the embossing folder with Basic Grey ink, put my 5 x 3.75" piece of Whisper White inside the folder, and ran it through my Big Shot. Cute, right?! The watercolour pencils were used to colour the chicken and eggs/egg carton. Looking at it now, I maybe should have coloured one of the eggs a different colour. Next time!
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder after cutting out a piece of Basic Black with the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies (#145372). I LOVE these framelits, but you won't find them in any of our catalogues; they were an early release from the upcoming new Annual Catalogue! They are a must in my opinion!
Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, #145372
Here's a close up of that crazy chicken!
Run to my online store and grab Hey, Chick! before midnight tonight! It can't be purchased, and can only be earned for FREE with a $60 purchase. I just love her crazy hair!

Have a fabulous weekend!
