Sneak Peek for Baby

How was your Christmas? This was the first year my husband and I have stayed home for the holidays - in the past we have always gone to a family member's home for Christmas dinner and to celebrate. This year one of my husband's nephews was visiting us from the Maritimes, and we spent a quiet day at home. I cooked a turkey and all the fixings...I am pleased to say it was delicious!

On to today's card....I have been meaning to make a baby card for over a month now for a new great-nephew in the family. I finally found time to get it done today after I spent a couple hours cleaning up my craft area and reorganizing - it was a disaster after the craft show I did in November and then all the Christmas preparations. SO much easier to get the creative juices flowing when you have a tidy place to work!.

This cute little duckie is from a new set coming out in just a couple weeks called One Tag Fits All. It is in the new Occasions Catalogue starting January 6! Sale-A-Bration also starts January 6....the new year is going to be off to a FABULOUS start! Christmas Card for SUO Challenge #112

I thought I would share the Christmas card I sent to friends and family this year and at the same time participate in this week's SUO Challenge! This simple card uses the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating punch along with various other punches and a circle framelit to complete. It is hard to see in the picture but my background was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder before adhering it to the Sahara Sand cardstock.

I hope you have had a good weekend! I had to work all weekend (at my "regular" job) and finally just got my tree up last night. I'm starting to feel prepared for the holidays!

Snowman Punch Art Card

Stampin' Up! has beautiful, fun, creative stamp sets - there's no doubt about that, but if you are just building your stamp collection you may not have a set appropriate for the holidays. No problem! I created this card using a few punches, paper, and an embossing folder. A couple things I did freehand (the nose and the smile) and the buttons were punched using a standard paper hole punch that you may have around your house!

See?! You don't have to own every stamp set in the book to create lovely handmade cards! (although, who am I kidding...I think I NEED every stamp set!).

Kind Koala Take 2

I needed a quick card earlier this week to send to a dear friend and coworker of mine who is facing some health challenges in the coming weeks. What is easier than CASEing a card (copy and share everything) especially when you are CASEing yourself! I initially created this card using different colors a couple weeks ago and had mailed it off to one of my nieces. I decided to use different shades of blue this time.

Pool Party, Marina Mist, Basic Grey, and Pink Pirouette are the inks and paper I used. Which version do you like better? Here is my original Kind Koala card here. Leave me a message!
