Bring Birthdays Back!

A couple months ago a fabulous Stampin' Up! employee in Utah, Shannon West, decided that social media has really ruined the celebration of birthdays. She started an initiative called #imbringingbirthdaysback to bring back the art of sending birthday cards! Posting a message on Facebook isn't enough - isn't it SO much nicer to receive cards in your mailbox instead of bills?! She posted a message on Facebook telling people to message her their birthday and she will personally send you a card! Go check it out and join the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement!

Stampin' Up! (of course) jumped on the bandwagon and made a stamp to support this initiative, and it will be available tomorrow while supplies last! The original stamp was handcarved by Shannon herself - how cool is that?!

February Thank You

I always send my customers a thank you card when they place an order, and I saw a clean and simple thank you card by Jessica Taylor that I just had to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). I changed it up just a tad but it was still quick and cute which equals a win in my books!

It's My Party Gift Card Holder

I don't know about you, but I give away a lot of gift cards! All of my family lives in different cities and provinces from me, and with the high cost of postage, sending parcels just isn't very cost effective. When I saw a video tutorial by fellow demonstrator Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek for a quick and simple gift card holder, I just had to give it a try!

 
I just got the It's My Party DSP stack and LOVE the bright colours and cute prints so I choose my colour palette right from that stack. Melon Mambo was my base cut 4.25' x 11", scored at 4.5", 5.5", and 6.5". A little adhesive, a couple punches from the Word Window Punch, and I was ready to decorate! My DSP strips were cut 0.75" x 4", the balloon stamped from Party Pants with Crushed Curry and cut it out (still awaiting my balloon punch!), and I finished off the inside with stamps from Party Wishes Stamp Set. It came together really quick and is perfect for mailing!

Last month's box of goodies had supplies to create an adorable Valentine banner and treat pockets. I decided to change it up a little bit and used the supplies to make Valentine cards instead! I just added a couple pieces of cardstock and everything else came right from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I was inspired by fellow Canadian demonstrator Angela McKay - you can see her card here.

  

After I took a few of the sequins off the trim to attach to the cards I used a couple strands of the Watermelon Wonder thread to make a cute bow!
