Easter Treats

Happy Easter my friends! I found this adorable project by Dani Didzena and I just had to CASE it! Dani has a great tutorial - check it out! I didn't have the stamp set she used, but I used Endless Birthday Wishes and Crazy About You to create a simple "Happy Easter" message using Old Olive and Archival Black.

I used the yummy Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue cinched with a little Linen Thread.

I used the Large Oval Punch to create the hole for the chocolate bunny to sit in. These little treats were so simple to create but are super cute and easy to mass produce!

Spring has officially arrived here in the Northern Hemisphere, and nothing says spring like flowers!

I used the beautiful Stampin' Up! Hostess set Happy Birthday, Everyone and the new stamp set Grateful Bunch from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue. I stamped the flowers in Archival Black on Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, and So Saffron before punching them out with the coordinating punch. A quick use of an Aquapainter to colour the leaves in Wild Wasabi and a little linen thread, and I was done! The Grateful Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Punch Bunch coordinating punch are15% off when purchased as a bundle! (item 140801).

Going, Going, Gone!

With the release of each Annual Catalogue Stampin' Up! releases a new set of In Colours. These are 5 trendy colours that will be available for 2 years and complement the other 4 colour families (Brights, Subtles, Regals, and Neutrals) to keep things fresh and exciting! This year we have to say goodbye to the 2014-2016 In Colours including Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, and Tangelo Twist.

I am going to be so sad to see these beautiful colours leave our SU line-up! They quickly became favorites of mine and mixed and matched many other colours in our collections so perfectly. Easter Egg Cut Out

I think Easter is my favorite holiday - not that I am super-religious or anything, but I just love the spring colours, the cute bunnies and chicks...and chocolate of course! Here's another Easter card I made recently, CASE'd from US demonstrator Tami White.

The stripes were made using the super-versatile set called Work of Art which is a stamp set I received for free during convention in Salt Lake City in 2014 - I hope it's going to stick around! In April the new annual catalogue will be revealed to demonstrators and the retiring list will be released. There's so many great sets in the annual catalogue that sadly tend to get "a little less air time" with the fabulous Occasions catalogues SU releases in the fall and spring! What stamps are on your "please don't leave" list?

Sale-A-Bration Easter Chick for SUO #143!

 I did a little paper piercing with the chick by first stamping him (or is it her?!) on Whisper White cardstock and then a second time on Daffodil Delight cardstock, then using my paper snips to cut each one out and adhered them together; it adds a little dimension and texture along with his Pumpkin Pie beak and feet. I used my Extra Large Oval Punch to punch "eggs" from the It's My Party DSP stack - it isn't just for birthdays! As soon as I saw the challenge over at SUO Challenges, #143,I knew I wanted to enter - the theme is "Easter Fun" and I love everything Easter!

Happy International Scrapbooking Day!

Scrapbooking has been around for decades, and March 4 is International Scrapbooking Day! Scrapbooking is all about preserving memories with photos, letters, keepsakes, etc. and is immensely popular all over the world. I began my papercrafting journey with traditional scrapbooking close to 20 years ago and I am ashamed to say I quickly lost interest. I found it VERY time-consuming and overwhelming and only completed a handful of pages over the years. While I love the look and idea of scrapbooking, I just never found the time, like so many other people.

Project Life was created by Becky Higgins many years ago. It is a simplified method of memory keeping and scrapbooking utilizing pocket pages, and Project Life by Stampin' Up! was introduced a couple of years ago. To be honest, I had never heard of Project Life before SU partnered with them, and I am hooked! It is crazy-simple, super-fun, and still gives you the look and personalization of scrapbooking. Better yet, with Project Life by Stampin' Up! everything coordinates! The cards match SU paper, ink, embellishments, etc. Here's a quick intro video:

What's even better, you can combine traditional scrapbook pages with pocket pages to highlight a few special pictures! Here's a page I made of our new kitten Felix who we brought home in June last year. With just a few cards and accessories from the Moments Like These collection, this page came together quickly.
