Bright Birthday for RMH Charity
Happy Friday! This afternoon is the start of the Calgary's Stampin' Up! Fall Conference. It is the first of 12 being held in Canada for demonstrators to get together and Inspire. Create.Share. With a product playground, business session, and after party it is sure to be a fun couple of days!
Each attendee is being given the chance to design a bright and cheery card for a chance to win $50 in SU product of our choice. The cards will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House charity which is near and dear to the heart of Stampin' Up! Here is the card I am submitting:
And the inside:
I used the Circle Thinlit to create my card and my favorite DSP called Sweet Taffy - I just love the bright colors and hope the people at Ronald McDonald House like it as well! Kinda Eclectic and Embellished Events were the stamp sets I used.
Happy Stampin'!

Give Thanks
Thanksgiving is just a month away here in Canada! I can't believe how fast September is flying by. We wait for so long for the warm summer days to arrive and then they come and go far to quickly. Growing up on a dairy farm in Nova Scotia we were always very aware of the changing seasons as the daily chores changed with them.
Anyway, enough reminiscing! Today I have another Thanksgiving card to share with you using lots of goodies from the new Holiday Catalog!
I used the same colour palette as yesterday with Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow. I colored the little wooden leaf accent with my Cajun Craze Marker and put a few threads from the 1-1/4" burlap ribbon behind it.
One way to get a bit more mileage out of your DSP (designer series paper) is to cut a hole in it - seriously! It is going to be covered up anyway, so just cut out the part that will be hidden and save it for another project! I used my Stampin' Trimmer to help me - you could also use a framelit and your Big Shot to cut out a piece of DSP before adhering it to your underlying card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Seasonally Scattered
Seasonally Scattered is a beautiful stamp set that attendees received at the Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City in July and it is now available in the Holiday Catalogue! I have seen many beautiful cards made with this set and decided it was time I assembled mine! I was inspired by Jen Timko, a former Artisan with Stampin' Up! who created this card for the display boards at convention! Isn't it lovely? I spelled out "giving" by stamping the letters in various stamp sets and then cutting them out to "piece" the word together - an awesome tip learned from my upline Allison! "Happy" is stamped and cut out from the stamp set Amazing Birthday (another fabulous gift from SU! at convention!).
I used my markers to ink up the image in Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, and Cajun Craze. I love how it turned out!
Would you like to attend the Stampin' Up! convention with me next year? Contact me and I will give you all the details on how you can receive free gifts from this wonderful company!
Happy Monday!

Where Art Thou Garden Green?
Have you ever looked and looked for something and cannot figure out where it could be?! That has happened to me and my Garden Green Ink Pad! I KNOW I own it because I recently bought the reinker for my "old style" ink pad. I even have proof of ownership by having it officially "checked off" in my catalogue (yes - it's true - I sometimes can't remember what I own and what I don't own!!). You see, I just started purchasing more ink pads in the last few months. Sure, I owned a few, but I felt that since I had all the markers, I didn't need the ink pads. Wrong! Having the ink pads makes stamping SO much easier - and quicker too. So I remember being surprised that I owned Garden Green - but happy - and I decided to get the reinker for my "old" ink pad. Now where did it run off to?!
Sigh. As I continue to hunt for the elusive ink pad, I thought I would share my first Christmas card of the season. It's never too early to start, right?!
See that fabulous tag? It is made from the new Kraft paper which comes in a pack of 12 sheets, 12 x 12 size, for only $7.50 (CA). It is heavier than card stock and is a great neutral alternative! You can find it on page 192 of the annual catalogue and can get a pack for yourself at my online store.
Wish me luck as the hunt for Garden Green continues....

Clean and Simple for SUO Challenge 104
Today's card is a VERY simple 5 minute card using In Colors and Work of Art Stamp Set. I love the bright combo of colors of Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, and Blackberry Bliss! A bow of Linen Thread and a couple Basic Jewels give the card a little texture.
I am posting this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge #104 over at SUO Challenges - check out their blog for some more inspiration!

Acorns and Burlap
The trees are starting to change their leaves and there is a definite nip in the air now. Fall is my favorite season and when I got the chance to add the For All Things Stamp Set to my collection at convention in July I did not hesitate! The watercolor look is very popular right now and this set is very much like the popular set Work of Art from the annual catalogue but with a taste of autumn! Those acorns are SO cute!! I colored them with my markers (Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake) to get the 2-toned look.
Supplies Used:
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangelo Twist, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: For All Things
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Accessories: 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Linen thread, corner rounder punch (non-SU)
I was inspired by a card on Pinterest but unfortunately the original crafter is not noted.
Would you like a copy of the newly released Holiday Catalogue? If you are in Canada and do not have a demonstrator please drop me a line and I would be happy to send one your way!
Happy Stampin'!
